Main street of Hofn. I remember going in there on a weekly basis to
make a milk run. We used to buy milk to stock the kitchen in our
barracks. I remember that the milk was sold in plastic bags instead of
paper cartons.

In addition to the diary, they also had a General Store where the people of H-3 could go to visit  and get unique souvenirs from Iceland.  One of the more popular souvenirs was a sheepskin showing the long, long, soft wool of the Icelandic sheep.  These skins could even be bought dyed in a wide range of colors.
