H-3 was called Hofn AFS but here is an aerial view of H-3 and the town of Hofn as seen from the C-47 ferrying people and supplies to the site. In the third picture, just barely discernible in the mist, is H-3, right at the end of the peninsula.
In town you may have been lucky enough to get to visit the General Store, the Bakery or the Diary. If you had visitors (like a wife!) they would have to stay in Hofn at the hotel since the site had no provision for overnight visitors..
