VIPs and Visitors
H-3 sometimes had some high ranking visitors, both military and civilian. Among these visitors was an inspection by a Three Star USAF general who was assigned to the USAF Headquarters Office of the Inspector General. We were busy cleaning, polishing, waxing and cleaning again for several days prior to his visit. I wish I could locate a picture of this visitor.

The following sign marked the boundary limits to H-3. The picture is from a 1978 visit from Roberto Olivo. He is an Italian who did extensive traveling in Iceland and sent us the picture he took when visiting the Hofn area.
